Why this exists
everyone. I’m Syed Asad. The reason I started Messy Growth is pretty simple.
For over a decade, I was heads-down working (most of it remotely), focused on the job, building teams for the B2B SaaS companies I worked for. All my energy went there. No LinkedIn posts, no conferences, no networking.
When I left my last role, I realized I wanted the opposite. I wanted to talk to the people a few steps ahead of me or doing something genuinely interesting and just learn from them.
Not what companies they work for and their titles. Not the polished CV. Not the perfect LinkedIn profile. I wanted to hear what they’d actually lived through. The mistakes, what they’d do differently, what worked, what didn’t. No fluff. Just the person behind the profile.
Because the journey is always messy.
Messy Growth is that conversation. Founders, CEOs, and operators sharing what really happened, what they learned, and what they’d change if they had to start again.
Honestly, I record for an audience of one. Me. But if I’m learning from these conversations, I figure other operators building something of their own probably will too.
